AnonOps IRC Network

AnonOps IRC Network

Sunday 4 November 2012

2nd anniversary of the Anonymous Operations IRC.

Who thought we would last this long?

Many predicted we wouldn’t last a month let alone a year. Just as many, even some of those same people, tried their hardest to end what we had created. Despite all the bullshit, attacks and hacks we managed to survive. We never did this for fame or attention. We did it because we thought it the right thing to do and in doing so, we experienced times of great joy and times of great sadness.

We have seen our friends persecuted and jailed by unfair governments who seek nothing more than to control the people, control what we see, what we can read, who we can talk to. The internet does NOT belong to any government or any corporation. It belongs to us. We should not be be controlled by anyone. We can police the web ourselves, as we have shown countless times. We do not need our governments to watch our every move, to spy on us without our knowledge and use this awesome medium for their own nefarious purposes.

We do not need corporations to further monetize this wonderful and often amazing creation. This fight has not ended. We are still angry. It will not end until they realize that we do not need them. We outnumber them and we cannot be defeated. You cannot silence all of us.
