The Anonymous Solidarity Network is extremely saddened, to learn that The Australian Federal Police have arrested Lorax, as well as another person alleged to be part of the Anonymous collective, in Australia. The Anonymous radio host of Lorax Live, has been blocked from producing new shows, with charges of hacking leveled against him. Lorax is a life-long supporter of human rights, and a passionate believer in open information, who has given generously of his time and talents, to help educate others.
With well over 100 interviews done by Lorax, he was well aware that he was a growing target, for a corrupt covert empire and like many of his guests, has always been willing to pay a high personal price, for speaking truth to power, and fighting for a more just world and peaceful future.
The signature voice of Lorax broadcast for over two years with in-depth looks at controversial subjects and marginalized voices. LoraxLive raised the collective consciousness and is representative of emerging, global communications networks that allows uncensored content, to stand on its merits. For daring to speak truth to power and helping to expose the injustice rampant within the top tiers of global power Adam Bennett became a target.
With spurious charges by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) he has bee barred from doing his radio broadcasts like other journalists who have incurred the wrath of powerful toxic forces. Despite the baseless nature of charges against him the days of innocent until proven guilty are gone. Lorax faces a protracted and costly legal battle to regain his right to free speech and we ask you to help #FreeLorax.
In Apartheid-era South Africa listening to Radio Freedom was a crime carrying a penalty of up to eight years in prison. Anonymous has evolved in a culture of threats to free communication as well. When the Anonymous networks (AnonOps) launched into radio, Lorax drew inspiration from Radio Freedom and launched Lorax Live to provide an uncensored platform for voices that speak truth to power.
March 3, 2016. Adam John Bennett, 42, was a respected surf life saver at Scarborough and worked for a cancer charity when he was arrested in 2014 on suspicion of being part of the Anonymous group.
Lorax was jailed for two years, suspended for two years, and ordered to commit to an intensive supervision order and complete 200 hours of community service.
