Historic sex abuse cases should receive tougher sentencing.
Child abuse activists held a demonstration in London on April 11, 2015.
The protesters demanded additional government resources following explosive allegations last year of cover-ups of sexual abuse by powerful individuals. Protesters from all over the country rallied in London to demand an end to child abuse cover-ups, including the Dolphin Square abuse parties. The protesters rallied in Parliament Square before marching to Downing Street, then to Trafalgar Square.
Phil’s petition: Victims of sex abuse in historic cases are not receiving sufficient justice, paedophiles are serving less time by evading whilst the victim suffers for most of their life. for every year that the crime has remained undetected the abuser should receive an additional six months. Many victims block the abuse and it can take years to resurface. The longer the abuse remains undetected the greater the sentence should be. This should be in addition to the current sentence applicable and that the sentences run consecutively.
Once the abuse is locked away within your own self, the affects on the individual remain, altering the outlook, self worth, confidence and ultimately the personality of the victim. The child will never know how they might have been as an adult because of the damage to the core of the individual.
This is not a blame everything on the paedophile, the paedophile is the seed of destruction on the child that will manifest itself on everything that child becomes in the future, in many ways unbeknown to the victim because they have buried the abuse within themselves and live with a “ticking bomb” inside. When the explosion occurs depends on the individual and the circumstances that unlock that “ticking bomb” to completely devastate everything that the adult who was abused as a child ever thought of themselves.
