Let’s celebrate Brown’s birthday and his contributions to the public record by supporting his defense fund, which not only goes toward his legal and restitution fees, but also boosts his commissary, allowing him to purchase basic items in prison and use the phone and computer.
Let’s also send Brown something to show we’re thinking of him. The Prison Books Collective has included Brown in their monthly call for birthday cards for political prisoners. As the collective says, “It’s an easy way to help remind these freedom fighters they aren’t forgotten.”
Send him a card or letter, to this address. Expect that anything you send or write will be inspected by prison officials before it gets to Barrett. See here for general guidelines regarding sending mail to prisoners.
Barrett reads constantly, occasionally reviewing books in his D Magazine column. He has a book wishlist at Amazon. Note: Barrett cannot receive hardcover books while he is in the Segregated Housing Unit.
